Merimee M. Kalumba, MTech, Director/Founder

Merimee Kalumba completed his masters in environmental chemistry studies at Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria in South Africa. He has published numerous scientific articles, and taught government officials and NGOs from more than ten countries in environmental and development-related courses. Currently is on experts Panel of the National Fund REDD+ DRC as part of a Long Term Agreement for the topic: Independent evaluation of program ideas notes or project documents/programs submitted to the National REDD+ Fund. Forest governance assessment and climate-smart agriculture or restoration projects in the DRC. He has a diverse set of skills which includes extensive experience in the fields of environmental management system (EMS), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Gas monitoring, climate change adaptation, forest governance, rehabilitation, advisor and lecturing. Mr Kalumba is a passionate member of South Africa Chemical Institute (SACI).

Malaika Lunda has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Geographical Science, IT, and Gender Studies, from the Africa University, Zimbabwe . Her practical environmental skills and experience include working with GIS, land surveying, vibracoring, vulnerability and livelihood assessments, hazard mapping, sustainability observations in informal settlements, working with overlays for strategic plans, and environmental assessments. She also has research experience in areas such as Local Economic Development, environmental implications and opportunities for policy brief, and HDI frameworks and guidelines.

Philippe Katuta, Environmental and Social specialist

He has bsc honours from ISP Lubumbashi and more than 20 years of experience by working with Non-profit management and consulting companies. Philippe Katuta is an Environmental and social Consultant in SRK’s DRC Office and has 5 years’ experience as an environmental assessment practitioner and community development facilitator. Philippe is a member of Southern Institute of Mining and Metallurgy of the DR Congo branch (SAIMM).

He has worked extensively in the mining sector in DRC and undertaken several assignments including baseline social surveys, social impact assessments, community meeting facilitation and stakeholder engagement. Philippe’s experience also includes project life cycle management according to good international industry standards. He has also substantial experience in Environmental and social management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA). Philippe has occupied positions as Community Development Facilitator.
